The LSESU Economics Society, which runs an annual essay competition, also runs a separate quantitative paper: 50 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes, sat on 9 January 2027 with registration closing on 27 December 2026. Questions are set and reviewed by LSE Economics Department academics and split roughly half A-level content, half LSE first-year, so students meet CPI calculations and multiplier arithmetic alongside expected values and t-statistics. Even if you don’t enter anyone, the sample questions are a good resource, on the site are worth putting in front of anyone considering an economics degree, since they make the step up in mathematical demand concrete in a way prospectus pages never do. Firmly extension material for confident mathematicians rather than a whole-class entry, and the entry fee isn't published anywhere on the site, so check that before you recommend it. Enter here
